A Cappella Unlimited
The Gold Standard in A Cappella

About Us

From the Beginning

One proud and happy chorus after our 2018 Division A win, 3rd Place overall and being named Audience Favorites!

A Cappella Unlimited Chorus began in 2009 as a concept by a carpool of Sweet Adelines traveling from Austin to Houston, TX, for weekly chorus rehearsals as dual members of the Houston Horizon Chorus. At the time, there were limited opportunities for women's a cappella singing in the rapidly growing central corridor of I-35 north of the New Braunfels and south of Austin, TX.

The first informational meeting was  held on September 30, 2010 at Texas State University, and the group officially became Prospective A Cappella Unlimited Chorus on November 18, 2010. In February of 2011, Katy Dane and Grant Goulding joined the chorus as Co-Directors.  The chorus received its charter from Sweet Adelines Interrnational on December 5, 2011.

About Our Name and Logo

Au is the periodic table symbol for the element Gold and has been a driving force for the image, mindset and marketing of the chorus from the start. Although the initials drove the name selection of A Cappella Unlimited, the word "unlimited" was important because it represented the founders desire to broaden their horizons and be unlimited in their thinking, not only in the choice of music but in all aspects of the performance and management of an a cappella ensemble.

As a Sweet Adeline chorus, we are members of the Great Gulf Coast Region 10 and as our name suggests, we are “Unlimited,” striving to expand beyond the traditional box of barbershop to include all a cappella styles. Our members are committed to becoming better singers and producing high quality music and performances.
